TMA-0 is discovered and unearthed in Africa. Heywood Floyd embarks on his second journey to the Jovian system. The communication is eavesdropped on by a third party. Van der Berg tells his discovery to Paul Kreuger. Rolf van der Berg discovers that Mount Zeus is made of diamond. As he was succumbing to death, a Monolith changed him into a New Seed. Astronaut and comic fan Harvey Norton is fatally injured by hostile aliens. After orbiting the moons of Lucifer a fragment of the diamond core of the onetime Jupiter crashes on Europa creating Mount Zeus. The first major expedition arrives to the moons of Galilei and builds a base on Ganymede. It was too much to expect that he would also understand.
